Abridgement in three parts of Police Force (Hongkong, 1973), an excellent and well-edited martial arts thriller produced by Shaw Brothers and directed by the legendary Chang Cheh, starring Wang Yu, Lily Li, Alexander Fu-Sheng.
Collectors of martial arts films may have noticed that a print of this film has been sitting on our website for years. That it never sold, is probably due to the fact that the print was a mix of black and white and color parts, and that print condition wildy varied between the parts. Recently, we acquired another print, and again, the first two parts were black & white and the third part was color. As we have only seen two prints of this feature in many years, we believe it’s no coincidence that in both cases only the third part is in color. At some point in time, Ufa/ATB has probably experienced production or distribution problems with either the black & white version or the color version, and then decided to distribute a combination of parts 1 and 2 in black & white and part 3 in color.
So this is why we now sell the same combination without any hesitation. And as we have two complete copies of the print, we were able to only select parts in very good condition. Color of the third part is also very good (Agfa 1S film stock).
