Abridgement in three parts of the French drama film L'Homme sans nom [The Man with No Name] from 1943, directed by Léon Mathot. A famous surgeon flees Paris after a fateful operation. He retires to a Basque village, where he meets an old flame. When her daughter appears to be seriously ill, he has to face a difficult decision.
Silent with Dutch subtitles.
The film was released in six 60m/200ft parts, which have been combined on three 120m/400ft reels. This is an old print, probably from the 1950s, but condition is not too bad. The main title, however, is missing, and we spotted a few burnt frames and splices (especially in the first part).
Rare Dutch release.
